Living Versus Dead Salt

I have been arguing with my dad about salt for what feels like forever. He has high blood pressure, and I’ve been trying to get him off his medication for 15 years. He was experiencing uncomfortable side effects that, frankly, scared him.

Even so, it was hard for him to change because it was what worked for him. He said, “When I take my medication my blood pressure goes down, and when I don’t take it, my blood pressure goes up.”

The thing was, he was solving the symptom, not the core problem. I kept telling him he wasn’t getting to the root cause, the cell level of our bodies that holds the key to all healing.

Now, my dad listens to me most of the time, but the medication was such a long-standing, simple solution, so he didn’t want to listen to me. He thought he was solving the problem, but he wasn’t. He was slapping a bandaid on it.

Regardless, guess how many days it took him to reset and feel better once I finally did convince him to give my method a try?

30 days.

That’s it. After 15 years of taking a medication that was hurting him, all he needed was 30 days to reset. So, 30 days versus 15 years. I know which one I’d pick!

So where does salt come in?

My dad is still afraid to eat salt because of all the fear-mongering surrounding it.

God gave us salt. It isn’t inherently bad, just like water isn’t inherently bad. But we all have heard that overhydrating can kill you too.

True, “healthy”, living salt is chock full of nutrients that will feed the cells of our bodies. Our ancestors used salt, they packed their meat and foods in salts to preserve them, and they didn’t have any obesity or societally chronic heart problems.

I see a lot of people with nutrient deficiencies in my line of work.

Note: Conventional table salt that we see in the United States at most restaurants is not a living food — and being a living food is what makes it so nutrient-dense and healthy for us. With table salt, the only nutrient you are getting is sodium. Which is fine, but there is so much more to be had that doesn’t change from the production process.

It is drying to our body tissues and dehydrates us if we have too much.

So, I recommend Redman’s Real Salt. It is a real salt from the earth, packed with nutrients. If you ever feel sick or like you have fatigue coming on, put a teaspoon of it in some warm water and sip on it throughout the day.

Like everything, it is possible to overdo it with salt. Be mindful, and remember everything in moderation.
